#2 - Oregon Bankruptcy Laws
In order to qualify to file for chapter 7 bankruptcy in Oregon, you will need to take a bankruptcy means test demonstrating that your income level is below the median income level for the state of Oregon per the U.S. Census Bureau. Barring that, you may also qualify to file chapter 7 bankruptcy in Oregon via an alternative form entitled, "Chapter 7 Statement of Current Monthly Income and Means-Test Calculation."
Additionally, you will be required to receive credit counseling from an approved Oregon credit counseling agency prior to filing chapter 7 bankruptcy. And in order to receive your final bankruptcy discharge documentation, you will also need to complete a debtor education course from an approved Oregon debtor education agency.
